Your words stay on your Mac.
Last updated October 14, 2026
- Wisp processes your voice on your Mac. Audio, transcripts and notes are never sent to us or anyone else.
- The app has no account, no analytics, no telemetry and no servers.
- When you buy, Stripe handles the payment. We receive your email and order details so we can deliver your license and support you.
1. Who we are
This policy covers the Wisp app for macOS and this website, both operated by Wisp (“we”, “us”). Questions go to support@trillium.one.
2. What the app does with your data
Speech. Dictation and the notetaker use Apple’s on-device speech recognition. Audio from your microphone and, during a meeting, from your Mac’s sound output is turned into text locally. Dictation audio is discarded once it has been transcribed.
Meeting notes. Summaries are written by Apple Intelligence’s on-device model. When Attach the recording is on, meeting audio is kept in Wisp’s folder on your Mac until you save the note to Apple Notes or discard it. Imported recordings are read, never changed or uploaded.
Stored on your Mac. Recent dictation history, your dictionary and snippets, usage counts for the Analytics tab, and unsaved meeting drafts are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Wisp. Preferences are stored in macOS user defaults. You can clear history in Settings or delete the folder at any time.
Troubleshooting recordings. Off by default. If you turn on Save recordings for troubleshooting, Wisp keeps your last 20 dictation sessions on your Mac. They are only shared if you choose to send them to us.
Apple Notes. When you choose Save to Notes, Wisp hands the note to the Notes app on your Mac. If your Notes account syncs with iCloud, Apple handles that sync under its own privacy policy.
Offline. macOS downloads Apple’s speech model once during setup. After that, Wisp needs no internet connection.
3. Permissions
Wisp asks for Microphone (to hear you), Accessibility (to paste text at your cursor and to skip password fields), System audio recording (to hear the other side of a call, only while the notetaker runs) and Automation for Notes (to save a note when you ask). You can revoke any of them in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
4. What we collect when you buy
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see your full card number. Stripe shares your name, email, country and order details with us so we can deliver Wisp, send receipts and updates, answer support and handle refunds. Stripe’s use of your data is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy. We keep purchase records as long as tax and accounting law requires.
5. This website
This site sets no tracking cookies and runs no advertising or analytics scripts. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability.
6. Email
If you write to us, we use your message only to help you. We don’t send marketing email unless you ask for it, and we never sell or share your information.
7. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of the purchase data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows. Email support@trillium.one. Everything the app stores is already on your Mac and under your control.
8. Children
Wisp is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
If a future version of Wisp ever needs to connect to the internet, for example to check for updates, we will say so here and in the release notes before it ships. We’ll update the date at the top when this policy changes.
